Music blog aggregator The Hype Machine and social music tracker last.fm have joined forces to allow you to record the songs you listen to with Hype Machines radio player to your last.fm profile.

The Hype Machine requires a little investment to find some blogs that you like, but once you've marked a few with the little heart, you'll have set up another great way of discovering new music that complements the streams from last.fm's recommendations and Pandora's musical DNA witchcraft.

Meanwhile last.fm builds up a profile of your listening habits by tracking every song you listen to in your media player. Once you've given in to the addiction you'll find it incredibly frustrating that last.fm can't track everything you listen to - but luckily some resourceful folks are working hard to close some of the loopholes. Some of the other tools in this arena include:

• Zenses - tracks listening on your non-ipod mp3 player.
• PandoraFM - track listening on Pandora, obviously.
